As both planting and teaching others about the benefits of trees are two of the most practical and hands-on ways to improve the environment, Joelle Teachey’s passion and leadership have played a crucial role in building TreesUpstate into the successful nonprofit it is today.
From 2007 to 2023, Joelle served as the Executive Director, during which time 10,000 local citizens volunteered alongside her and her team, helping plant 189 different species and cultivars of trees across the Upstate. Her dedication to the community continues as she serves as Executive Counsel for TreesUpstate and the Race Director for the annual Turkey Day Run.
