THE PROGRAM

TreesUpstate is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that plants, promotes, and protects trees in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, and Spartanburg Counties. Our Workforce Development program nourishes a culture of self-empowerment for 18 – 24 year-olds aspiring towards meaningful and stable employment, as we protect and improve the environment. We train and employ people who are at-risk of being excluded from stable employment as they move towards family-sustaining jobs.

We provide paid training, industry certifications, paid work experience, career coaching, and assistance finding future employment. Trainings and certifications include SC Landscape Certification and other soft skills that ensure success throughout life. Our trainees practice these skills while working at environmental worksites. Ultimately, we support their transition to good jobs and lasting careers.
